As the coronavirus continues to disrupt supply chains in almost every industry, it is so important that you share with your retailers any delays in shipping that you are anticipating. We here at Hilldun have been having extensive discussions with many of the major retailers. Frequently, they have no idea where their vendors manufacture the products they purchase from them. They seem quite willing to work with you as long as they know what to expect. Our suggestion is that you reach out to your buyers and give them realistic expectations regarding your deliveries to them in the coming months, and request extensions when appropriate.

For those who produce in unaffected areas, let your retailers know that as well, as you may be able to fill the spaces left by those unable to deliver on time. If you produce in the US and can turn product around quickly, let them know this. Transparency is key. This situation affects everyone and we must work together to make sure that, as an industry, we develop a coordinated effort to deal with the multiple interruptions that this is creating.

In addition, please make sure that you amend your order requests here at Hilldun to reflect any changes in delivery dates so that we can accurately maintain the approvals you rely upon.
